International public funding for collaborative R&D projects led by innovative SMEs.
Develop an innovative product, process or service with at least one independent partner from another Eurostars country. Funding rates, eligible costs and maximum amounts are set by each national or regional funding body. Call 12 closes on 4 March 2027 at 14:00 CET.
Why Eurostars
Access non-dilutive public funding under the rules of each participating country or region. Funding rates and maximum amounts vary by partner.
Develop a new product, process or service with independent organisations from at least two Eurostars countries.
The consortium is led by an innovative SME, while other partners may include SMEs, large companies, universities and research organisations.
Projects are evaluated for innovation, technical challenge, consortium quality, market opportunity, impact and a credible commercialisation plan.
Who Qualifies
Sector and TRL are not universal international eligibility criteria. Projects are assessed on implementation quality, impact and excellence, alongside national funding rules.
Eligible when the project involves genuine R&D and innovation rather than routine software development or implementation.
National restrictions may apply to particular activities, such as clinical trials, and must be checked for every partner.
Eurostars is open to R&D and innovation projects in all fields; no sector receives automatic eligibility or priority.
The project must present a credible technical challenge, new applied knowledge, international added value and a route to commercialisation.

Meeting the basic criteria is the floor. A truly competitive application requires a well-structured project, a qualified partner and a compelling commercial narrative.
